Eligibility & location
Where we can see you today, and where we can't — yet.
01Do you see patients outside California?
Not yet. Our providers are licensed in California, and state medical-board rules require that the patient be physically located in California at the time of the visit. We're working to add other states; in the meantime, if you're temporarily out-of-state we have to ask you to wait.
02Do I need to be a California resident?
No — residency doesn't matter. What matters is that you're physically inside California when the consultation starts. You'll confirm this on the booking page before payment.
03Is there a minimum age?
Yes. We see adults aged 18 and older. We do not treat children or adolescents.

Pricing & what's included
Transparent, flat, and inclusive of every standard document.
01What does the consultation fee cover?
A private, unhurried consultation with a California-licensed provider, plus every standard document issued during it — prescriptions (non-controlled), sick notes, fitness-to-fly letters, referrals, lab and imaging orders. Nothing is added afterwards.
02Are there any extra fees?
None from us. Third-party costs — pharmacy dispensing, lab processing, imaging at an external clinic — are paid directly to those providers at their own rates.
03Do I get a Good Faith Estimate?
Yes. Under the federal No Surprises Act, cash-pay patients are entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. For an Oriacare consultation that's straightforward: a flat $250 for the visit and any documents issued during it. You'll see this clearly before paying, and we email a copy with your receipt.
04What is your refund policy?
Cancel more than 12 hours before your appointment for a full refund. Within 12 hours the fee is non-refundable, though we will always try to reschedule you at no cost.
05Do you accept insurance?
We do not bill insurers directly. You will receive an itemised receipt suitable for reimbursement claims with most private health plans.

How a consultation runs
Personal, unhurried, and led by a provider from start to finish.
01How do I book a slot?
Choose a time, share a few details, and pay. Confirmation arrives by email within seconds. There are no callbacks and no waiting rooms.
02Is the consultation by video or phone?
Video by default, over a secure link sent to your inbox. If you prefer a voice call, mention it in the reasons for visit field when booking.
03How should I prepare?
A quiet space, a stable connection, and a short note of what is on your mind. Recent test results, medication names or photographs are useful if relevant.
04Who will I be speaking to?
A California-licensed, board-certified provider, every time. No call-centre staff, no scripted assistants, no triage nurses.
05Can I raise more than one concern?
Yes. The consultation is yours — use it for one detailed question or several smaller ones.
06What can't you help with?
Controlled substances (opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants) and anything genuinely urgent or hands-on — chest pain, severe bleeding, suicidal thoughts. Those belong with an emergency room or in-person provider. We're upfront about this so the consultation isn't wasted.

Availability & turnaround
Same-day care when you need it, with documents that arrive promptly.
01How soon can I be seen?
Same-day or next-day slots are typically available, Monday to Friday. Open times appear live on the booking calendar.
02How quickly do I receive my documents?
Most letters, sick notes and prescriptions are emailed within a few hours of the consultation, and always within one business day.
03How are imaging and lab orders handled?
Orders are issued to your chosen provider on the same day as your consultation. Booking the scan or test itself is then arranged directly with them.
04Do you offer weekend appointments?
Booking is open at any hour. Consultation slots run Monday to Friday, with weekend availability added during peak periods.

Privacy, records & confidentiality
Your records belong to you, held with the discretion medicine demands.
01Who actually sees my notes?
Only the provider treating you and a small named clinical team. Records are never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train any model.
02How is my data stored?
Records are encrypted in transit and at rest, on HIPAA-compliant, medical-grade infrastructure hosted in the United States.
03Are you HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Oriacare operates under HIPAA and California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA). You may request access, correction, or deletion of your records at any time, and we will action the request promptly.
04Are video consultations recorded?
No. Calls are never recorded. Your provider keeps written notes which form part of your private medical record.

Documents, prescriptions & delivery
Signed, official, and accepted wherever they need to be.
01How will I receive my documents?
As signed PDFs, emailed to the address used at booking. Prescriptions can be sent directly to a pharmacy of your choice on request.
02Are sick notes and letters accepted by employers and airlines?
Yes. Every document is issued by a California-licensed provider on official letterhead with a verifiable signature, and is widely accepted by employers, schools, and airlines.
03What if I need a document re-sent?
Email us with your name and appointment date. We will re-issue the original PDF at no charge for up to 12 months.
04Can documents be issued in Spanish?
Documents are issued in English by default. A Spanish translation can be requested at no extra cost when booking.
